In today was a caddy van that has had a turbo actuator fault for a while. The owner fitted a new actuator from Darkside but it wasn’t solving the problem. We did a few checks and found that the actuator had been fitted but it appears that it hadn’t been adapted and the DPF was blocked. We tried to do a forced regen but nope, with a faulty van it wouldn’t do it so the only thing to do is burn the soot out with a number of controlled dyno runs.
This wasn’t going to work either as we couldn’t get past 3000 rpm at 70 mph due to a speed limited in place. We programmed that out and increased the limit to 190 kph which allowed us to start dyno’ing the caddy. After 6 or 7 dyno runs the dpf was now hot enough to start regenerating which it did. 30 minutes later the regen completed and we reset everything and did 4 or 5 back to back dyno runs again. The fault cleared and this is ready to roll out the door with it working as it should with the speed limited also removed.
