Another T4 back from the dead. This came in a few weeks back with the owner complaining of limp mode and lack of power. On investigation we found the actuator was covered in some sort of tape but had been wound fully up then down by the looks of the tape on the actuator arm, when we used our pressure testing kit the actuator was moving a bit but not fully. Today we had a new turbo here ready to fit, on removing the old one (eventually, this took 4 hour to replace as every nut and bolt was seized) we used our boost tester and the actuator was moving a bit but not the insides, whoever wound this up and down may have damaged the turbo insides. Anyway, new turbo fitted and w are pleased to announce that this went from 55 bhp and 169 nm to 123 bhp and 279 nm of torque with no limp mode issues.
