In today was a T5 1.9 85 bhp van. This started out with slightly above power at 96 bhp and 225.5 nm however this was all over the place power wise. This has a straight through from turbo back exhaust from our good friends at PPTuning and EGR bypass. We suspected it might be sticking vanes on the turbo so a few good runs may clear it. We pressed ahead.
Once tuned this only made 123 bhp and 295 nm of torque so we decided that it couldn’t be sticking vanes. The data log showed not enough air was going through the maf sensor so we puled it out and it had debris all over it plus it was soaked in an oily film from the aftermarket air filter fitted.
We clean the maf sensor up and run the van on the dyno again without the air filter and it made 134 bhp and 306 nm, this was another 11 bhp and 11nm of torque just removing the blocked air filter.
Awesome results from this lovely van.
